Engineering and the Quarter system

<p>I’m a CC transfer student with a TAG to UC Davis for Fall 2014. Like most community colleges, I am currently on the semester system, but I know UC Davis operates on the quarter system. I’d like to see if anyone who is attending UC Davis or has recently graduated from the School of Engineering could provide some insight in to the transition from Semester based engineering classes to quarter based.</p>

<p>Right now most classes I take are difficult, but not overwhelming as far as work load goes. I am a little concerned the quarter system will be pretty fast paced and I just want to be prepared for it.</p>

<p>I am not a transfer nor have I ever been on the semester system, but I can say that you will take less classes per quarter than you would in a semester. They will be quicker paced and more intense. Midterms come up 3 to 4 weeks in and the whole quarter is over in 10.</p>
