Engineering Art Program

Hey Everybody,

I am getting ready to finish my junior year of high school and I am starting to look at college programs. I am interested in engineering but also fine arts (animation, etc) and was wondering if there were any programs that combined the two. Thank you for the help.

The closes thing (that I’m familiar with) that combines fine arts and engineering would be “Digital Arts and Sciences” (at least, that’s what it’s called at UF). It’s a core computer science degree with special emphasis on human centered computing. It includes art, design and computing courses that relate to digital media, interaction and communication.

Good luck in your search!

Well you can study engineering and art and get degrees in both such as described here: [Lehigh University: P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science: Arts & Engineering](<a href=“P.C. Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science | Lehigh University”>Interdisciplinary Engineering Programs | P.C. Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science)

Or you can look into majors that inherently combine the two such as Interactive Media or Game Design. Look here for example:
[Media Arts and Technology - Media Sciences - RIT: College of Imaging Arts & Sciences](http://cias.rit.edu/schools/media-sciences/undergraduate-media-arts-and-technology)

Stanford offers a Product Design major in the School of Engineering that combines art, psychology and mostly mech engineering…
