Hi everyone!

I am a 2nd year community college student looking to transfer (hopefully) after my 3rd year.

I am currently pursuing Software Engineering and I have a great interest in digital art and plan to minor in it. By digital art, I'm referring to designing the concept art for video games/movies and that line of work.

I was wondering if it is possible to pursue a bachelor's in Software Engineering while studying art at the same time, possibly for a minor degree. From what I've heard, Engineering in itself is one of the more difficult majors to undergo, so I am not completely sure if I can/should do both at the same time.

To be honest, although I do find Software Engineering to be very fascinating, the career path I'm mostly interested in is art. I am taking Software Engineering as, I suppose, a secondary option in case my goal of becoming an artist is not as fruitful as I hope for it to be. This is mainly because Software Engineering is a more stable career path.

The school I am currently looking to transfer to is San Jose State in California. I hear that alongside its great tech program, its art program is also quite reputable. It would save me money from attending art school after college if I could just go for both during my time at this school.

As of right now, I am wondering if it is possible to pursue both degrees when I transfer, or if I will have to choose just one. At this point, I am feeling very divided between the two majors.

Any advice is very much appreciated. :)
