<p>I don’t think that Chem E is quite like that, but you have plenty of time to figure that out. Making new materials happens in both chemistry and chem E (and materials engineering, of course)-- it just depends on what interest you have and what methods you prefer to use to address problems. Being more into chemistry than physics means you may be better served taking the materials track in the chemistry department.</p>
<p>I don’t think that most people have any sense of what “disadvantage” means. You won’t be at one coming out of Brown.</p>
