Engineering - average ACT score?

UV's engineering is weak compared to other departments. What's the average ACT score? Probably lower than others?
I have a 29 on the ACT and my strongest subjects are math and science.. 3.83 UW GPA.
I'm international though.. I haven't applied yet but I'm not sure if its worth it or not.

wrong.

wrong. On par or higher, especially in the math/science section

You’re going to apply only based on ACT scores? Howabout looking at the amount of research done at UVa, how many kids go on to top grad schools, job placement, etc etc

great response shoe

Engineering is not popular at UV; compared to Econ and etc. That’s why I thought it was weak. Biology-related ones don’t seem so bad but others are not even in the top 20, in almost every list I find.
And I’ve applied to others schools of course.

Thanks shoebox10! I now have some good ideas on what to put on my “Why UVA?” transfer essay!

Lol

sdy1111 takes academic rankings seriously. Not many people taking those rankings seriously outside of high school students and their parents. Little FYI.

There is an entire School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Economics is a department within the College of Arts and Sciences. The engineering student population at UVA is larger than the population that is majoring in Economics.

I know that. That’s why I said “etc.” I was talking about the College of liberal arts; but wasn’t sure what it was called. Some schools call it Literature, Arts, and Science.
I just heard UV’s liberal arts programs are better known than Engineering. I guess I was wrong.
If you went to UV, don’t be offended. Every school is weak in some areas; I was just wondering if Engineering was the case in UV.
Thanks

I realized it’s UVA, not UV. sorry about that.
Yeah. I’m just careful here because lots of people get mad and send private messages.
Thanks everyone!

The engineering school is kept small on purpose so that the student-teacher ratio is kept low. Frankly, after transferring from a large/powerhouse engineering school, I loved the intimate engineering school. And no, it’s not “weak” by any means, if you do well you end up in great places in life.

That is, if you consider having a 500 person class small

About 30 using the concordance table.
