UVa for Engineering

so...i'm currently enrolling at UVa for First Year Engineering- hopefully for Computer Engineering...i was wondering how strong UVa is for undergraduate Engineering..i mean i love the school and all..but..it's ranked low in US NEWS' rankings for some reason....should i transfer or is UVa great for engineering, jobs and job opportunities in general?? Please help... thanks! :)

bump…

i posted on another thread like this long ago, and seriously,

i don’t think engineering rankings matter as much as overall ranking at undergrad level.

if i had a choice between Brown and UIUC, i’d definitely go with Brown although it’s ranking is beyond 50th (last time i checked).

compared to VTech, both of you guys have similar starting salaries for engineering… i also had this info available on some other thread.

so seriously, if you are intending to goto VTech just for ranking, i’d rather stay at UVa… now if it was Georgia Tech, i’d give it a thought a bit.

naah…VTech isn’t on my list..it was between Purdue and UVa…and i chose UVa..and i don’t know whether to regret it or not :s …

don’t.

it’s much harder to gain acceptance into UVa (35% admitted, SAT:1200-1420) than Purdue (80% admitted, SAT: 1020-1270)…

and employers know UVa is a great school in general. they won’t be pulling an engineering rankings while screening your resume versus random Purdue grad.

seriously, i know im going overboard with this example, but Purdue beats Harvard out of water at its engineering ranking, but nobody gives a sh** about it.

lol…alright..thanks man! …i feel much better now :)
