Engineering B.S. + M.S vs. Physics B.S. + Engineering M.S.

I've recently been accepted to UCSB and UCSD (Really excited) , but I was admitted for undeclared for both after applying for engineering. However, I found that UCSD has non-impacted engineering majors that I would be able to declare ( At least I believe so). Unfortunately, UCSB doesn't.

I've been stuck trying to decide between these two colleges since I prefer UCSB but I would have to take physics which I could then use for an engineering M.S.

my question is: Is a masters in engineering a recommended requirement before searching for an entry level job in engineering? Or would it be easier to attend UCSD for an engineering B.S. , find a job, and then attain my masters?

you are not going to get an entry level job in engineering with a BA in physics. People with a BS in engineering are perfectly qualified for entry level jobs. A MS in engineering is helpful and leads to a bit better starting salary than a BS. However if you try to attend grad school to get a MS, assuming you find one that accepts you with a physics undergrad degree, the 1st thing they will do is require you to take most of the engineering courses you didn’t take.

If you want to be an engineer, go to the school that gives you the opportunity to earn a BS in it.
