Hey, I was wondering, is it possible to get a dual-degree from the Carnegie Institute of Technology and Tepper School of Business? I know that I can apply to both schools but I'm wondering if I can double major between schools or do I have to choose one. Thanks in advance

I have the same question! It seems like there are too many requirements to complete both degrees in four years but I have heard that CMU likes students to double major and dabble in different fields.

I know some schools that allow it and some schools that don’t. I would have a lot of AP credits so I don’t think 4 years would be a problem. I am just wondering if CMU allows it.

It is possible, but if you want to have any kind of actual life outside of schoolwork it’s a really bad idea. However, people do complete dual engineering/business degrees; it is not unheard of.

Told DS to get good in one field or good in related fields.

IMO : If he wanted to do business, it made no sense to expend time, effort , and money to learn basic business accounting and business law/patents that he could learn at a local community college or local college. If you look at the hiring outcomes of the engineers, you will discover that some are being hired for finance, sales, and trading which tells me that the hiring companies will do their own training.

Be careful if you think you are going to get AP credits. Check CMU’s policy on AP testing out.
