Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to double major between schools at Villanova. I am very interested in Chemical Engineering and business. I will graduate with 14 AP classes, with all of them most likely being 4s and 5s. Does that make the possibility of double majoring easier? I know Villanova has strong programs in both business and engineering so I really hope this is doable.
I don’t know about Villanova but I believe Ohio State has a program that combines engineering and business and U Alabama has STEM to MBA program.
Why? How will double majors help you after graduation?

Thank you for the responses. One of the big things I like about Villanova is that it is a great university that is local. Ohio State and Alabama are a little far. Also I feel doing a double major gives me the ability to pursue differing interests beyond college, and even to blend them, like working as a manager at a large pharmaceutical company like Merck. I realize I could do that with a business minor, but I really view the interests in engineering and business as equal so I wouldn’t want to limit myself from going to a financial firm for instance if I decided I wanted to do business while in college.

Pitt might be closer to you, but OSU and Alabama might be easier to get merit at.
The above program is offered as a graduate program
Thank you @mommdc ! I’ve already been accepted to the Pitt Honors Program and am hoping to the get merit aid from there. Kids in the past with similar stats from my school have gotten full tuition scholarships, so I really hope that I could get something like that. I know it is no sure bet though so I am applying to other places for similar programs. My top choice is doing Penn ED and possibly the M&T Program, but I’m not sure. Penn is a crap shoot so I can’t really expect anything there. The Pitt double master program is definitely appealing and something I am interested in. Thanks for the help! Going back to the original post, does anyone know if, even though Villanova doesn’t have any formal program, I could do something along those lines.
Yes it is possible although it is a lot of work. But I definitely know of at least one person at Villanova that has an engineering major and business major (pretty sure it was a major and not a minor but I’m not 100%). She just graduated but had to take difficult business classes her senior year. But if the classes can fit into your schedule then I’m positive it’s possible.
Thank you @villanova37 ! I realize it would be a lot of work, and I may change my mind based on that once I get into college, but having that ability to double major is defintely a plus. What is your major at Villanova? Can you tell me how you like whatever major you are currently doing and the school overall?
I’m currently a junior biology major! I enjoy it a lot and also absolutely love Villanova. It’s a beautiful school that quickly felt like home for me- everyone wants to be a part of something! I would definitely recommend! My friends in the engineering school enjoy it as well as my friends in the business school! The students are definitely proud to go to Villanova. It’s also a lot of fun (despite the nickname villanofun) as there is greeklife, sports parties, and bars nearby. It’s in a fantastic neighborhood that has anything you can ever need nearby!
I think it would make the most sense to either do one or the other (depending on what types of jobs you want to pursue). Both are solid programs. The easiest way to combine both would be to do an engineering major with a business minor through the Summer Business Institute (you get a business minor in one summer). I don’t think it is possible to do a business major and engineering minor. Also I think its impossible to do both majors.
