Engineering/calculator

For you current engineering students, what type of calculator should I buy for next year? I have a TI -83+ and am going into electrical and computer engineering. Is it good enough for ECE, or should I buy a more high-end calculator?

For the most part you won't be able to use calculators during exams. However I think an TI-83+ is just fine. I personally have a TI-89 but I don't use it much.

TI-83+ is a good choice. Just make sure you have a nice scientific calc handy for exams

Definately invest in a good scientific calculator, but for math exams you don't use any calculators. Eventually you may find you want a better calculator or you just use matlab or mathematica, but don't go running out to buy a better calculator you won't need it freshmen year
