Calculators for Engineers

Well I'm an incoming freshmen for the Biological Engineering program and I'm wondering which calculator I should purchase. I do know that it is not allowed to use calculator on tests and all that jazz...however I think that you still need one, right? Well anyway, I was thinking of getting the TI-89, basically the engineering calculator. Any suggestions?

Ti-89 is good calculator for any math class and any engineering class

dont get the TI 83+
for an extra few dollars get TI 89
it has more apps on there you can use and overall a better calculator

TI-89 Ti is an excellent calculator to have. However, many math and engineering exams forbid the use of a calculator. The real advantage of having a calculator is being able to use it to check/aid in doing your problem sets (cornell's term for homework)
