RD vs ED?

First – you should apply.

Let’s look at things – Your SATs are great.

You took the most rigorous courses your HS offers, and supplemented them with college courses. That’s great.

ECs look fine, though not stand out.

The only real question, is what to make of your GPA – 91.5. Depending on your school’s grading system, it could be as low as 3.6 ish (which would be a tad low) or as much a 3.8, which would be pretty much in Cornell’s Target range.

Not knowing your school, I can’t really say, though this could be significant.

In any event, you should apply!!

The accepted wisdom is that the acceptance percentages are greater for ED candidates, if Cornell is your first choice. For the University as a whole, the ED percentage may be as much as double the RD percentage.

with the gpa its interesting. by the logic that an A =4.0, my gpa is almost exactly 3.8. but by the logic of gpa/25, its a 3.66. But thanks for the insight, zephyr15!
