I am a rising junior and i am planning on taking Computer Engineering in college. My school does not have a robotics club nor any club really related to engineering. What EC can I get to boost my college application?
You can be a leader and start a Robotics club or a Programming club. That will certainly look good for your resume.
Compete in hackathons, start a club, do research, research apprenticeships, internships
Is there a “girls who code” or any other program like that around in your community that you could help out with?
Also don’t worry about Engineering ECs…participate in ECs you like and do well in Math, Physics and Chemistry.
@bopper There is no “girl who code” in my school and most girls are joining computer science club next year so I will not open a “girl who code” in my school. I do want to join but I thought you can only join if it is in your school, right?
But sometimes there are programs in middle schools that you could help out with? or volunteer to help girl scouts in a techy sort of badge?
@bopper I am volunteering weekly in a science organization and every weekday now during the summer in science summer camps. Would that actually help my college app? Or should I do more like clubs and competitions?
If you don’t have those clubs then you don’t have those clubs. Doing what you are doing over the summer is great! Worry more about math and science and your SAT/ACTs. Take a Comp Sci course during HS if possible to make sure you like it.
