Engineering honors program

Anyone have any ideas about this program? Is it hard to get into? Are student automatically considered for this program when they apply to CU Boulder? ( The website shows that there is a different application process, but do we have to receive invitation to apply?) What are the outcomes of this program?

Thanks for your information!

Yeah you do have to apply separately through the application, and no you don’t need an invitation to apply. Just go ahead and fill it out

Freshman daughter is in Engineering Honors and LOVES it. She actually opted not to apply but was invited late last spring. She and her friends are really excited about the newly renovated dorm they will be in next fall. The guy who runs the program is loved and respected by the engineering honors kids. Go for it.

Anyone know when one will hear if they got into the honors engineering program at Boulder? Submitted appl what now?

My daughter just received a letter today (I guess she had applied) accepted into HOnors. Do all Honors kids live in special dorms?> I hope she plans to attend although we are waiting on financial aid as she is out of state and only got $15K scholarship paid over 4 yrs. Anyone received fin aid yet? We hope she will get something. OUr EFC is $25K so hopefully she can get $10K and then we could handle tuition.

The non-engineering honors dorms are in the Kittridge Complex. On the edge of the Main Campus. Closer than WilVille to classes, library, Folsom Field, the Rec Center, UMC (student union), but not as close as the Main Campus dorms (Sewall, Baker, Libby, Farrand, Hallett, Cheyenne Arapaho) are. Anecdotally, I have heard that they are “hit and miss” as far as how good they are, condition-wise. I do know some of them underwent some recent renovation, so that’s a good thing.
