Engineering internship with science major? (Physics, Chemistry, etc)

Have you done this or do you know anyone in this case? Will getting a chemical engineering internship be possible for a chemistry major with mathematics minor?

Why not?
I had interned in a photonic lab for some time as a computer engineering major.

You are talking about chemE and Chemistry. Assuming you are a upperclassman, you probably have some good knowledge in chemistry. The only downside is that you won’t be able to perform certain tasks that are “exclusively” for chemE.

Let say if you apply to a research lab @ your school, the research will demand both chemistry and ChemE students. The chemE will use their tools to perform their tasks, and you the chemistry major will do other tasks using your knowledge.

But when you apply to a chemical engineering internship, depending on the type of work, you may not be consider at the first.
