Which engineering majors have the best chances of getting a job in finance, and which have lower chances?
I know that engineers are often hired for finance positions, but are employers more interested in certain majors than others?

There are Financial Engineers (as in that is their major). I don’t think that a certain engineer gets a heads over another engineering major (besides Elec.E and Chem.E since most people think those are the hardest specialties).
I don’t think there’s a major difference purely in terms of the “brand” of the major but something such as industrial engineering with some kind of business minor/concentration would be the ideal for finance.
Most engineers I know who work in finance now have worked as an engineer for a few years and then they have gone back for a MBA. I don’t think there is an advantage of studying one type of engineering over another if you eventually want finance.
You might want to consider studying finance/business instead of engineering if that is the direction you ultimately want to go.
