epa - you don’t know much of anything about the candidate to say what you have, and frankly to the OP this is not enough information for anyone to form a judgment.

are his/her numbers below columbia’s par? yes. but that is only if you assume all candidates to be equal. and also all admittances to be equal, and that is plain naive. we all know that just because you have the scores doesn’t mean you will be admitted, and just because you are below par does not mean there isn’t something compelling.

i think that without knowing more context, the testing isn’t great. but your chances of admission change considerably if there are other details known.

to the OP - i highly caution you from engaging in chance threads and especially unless you are willing to provide more information. it will just result in a lot of negative responses that will not be helpful.

my biggest suggestion is to look into who columbia has normally accepted or waitlisted from your hs and see if you are in the neighborhood. if you are not, then that is an uphill battle. if it is just a question of testing, you have a few more chances to take tests, consider studying like you never have for a test before and rocking it out of the park. that is the best way to figure out your ‘chance.’

I dont do chance threads really, only on a PM basis. Im not to huge of posting all that info on the internet!
Also, not many kids from school apply to Columbia for SEAS. We had one kid go last year, but he went to CC, not SEAS and the year before a girl went to Barnard. The high school I go to does not send that many students per class to Ivies. Could I PM you and you chance me?
