I am finishing out my college search, but I am somewhat concerned about how far away from home most of my choices are. Almost all of the schools are on the east coast. I live in Washington state and am looking to major in electrical engineering, but I am having troubles finding reasonable schools to apply to that are fairly close to home (<1000 miles). I have a 3.7 GPA (with 4.0 last 3 semesters, very strong upward trend), 2190 SAT (760 CR, 710 M, 720 W), and fairly ordinary ECs. Money is definitely an issue so OOS publics are out of the question as in state publics may not even be affordable. Right now I have UPortland and UW-Seattle on my list. Am I missing any good engineering schools with good aid?

Look at the pinned threads in the financial aid forum.

With the exception of USD, not quite West Coast:

Case Western Reserve University
Ohio University
Saint Louis University
South Dakota School of Mines & Technology
Texas Christian University
Illinois Institute of Technology
Marquette University
U of San Diego

Here are some low cost (scholarships or low list price) options:

Have you run the net price calculator on the two schools you already have on your list?
