Hello all! This is my first post in college confidential. I am currently finishing my Liberal Arts degree online from Excelsior College. (I have a 3.8 GPA, if that matters.) Now I may want to go to a real school for a mechanical engineering degree. I have not taken the SAT's, and do not have time to study for them (long story). I'm planning on going to a community college next year to take Calc 2-3, Differential Equations, a few physics courses, and whatever else I would need to transfer into an engineering program. Some colleges require SAT's to transfer in. I'm looking for a good program to transfer into without having to take the SAT. I've looked into UCLA, USC, Georgia Tech, and Cornell, and these look like the best schools to transfer to that don't require SAT's. Anyone got any information on these schools, or any other schools that would be interesting? And which one of these schools are better in engineering and prestige?

[ABET -](http://www.abet.org) will list schools with engineering degree programs.

Public universities usually have articulation agreements with same-state community colleges (e.g. [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) for California). USC does as well. Search for “transfer credit” on the university’s web site.

Do pay attention to costs. Most colleges and universities do not offer any aid other than federal loans to students who are completing a second bachelors degree. Even then, you are held to a strict lifetime limit.
