Engineering Schools

I know there is a thread for the best financial aid schools, but I wanted to create one to restrict it to engineering schools. So, what schools that are known for their engineering programs give the best financial aid?

Princeton - need based only, no merit based scholarships.

yea i heard princeton gives a lot of grants, but its not exactly known for engineering...

i meant schools like WPI, Cornell, FU, UMich etc...
also the easier the get into the better ;)

Best Deal is your state school. Different state schools will specialize in certain engineering areas.

RPI is a good engineering school and is known for good merit aid, especially if you are a girl.
While at RPI we were also told Case has good merit aid. Don't know specifically about their engineering.

State school is not always the best deal.
Re: RPI You might look into the medal program-- http://admissions.rpi.edu/update.do?artcenterkey=1

Got into USC Engineering (Viterbi) with a Presidential Scholarship, which is 1/2 of tuition paid for 4 years. This turns out to be a better deal than our state school. Don't write off the privates - they have more money to give away.

Colorado School of Mines gives out good scholarships to students who keep a steady GPA at the school. Excellent engineering school as well.

Cooper Union pays your full tuition, if you are admitted.

Olin College of Engineering. Great school with also full tuition. If you can get past the fact that it's new and small, it is the best bang for the buck.

UMich if you're a Michigan resident.

NC State University has the Park Scholarship program which offers full ride scholarships (tuition, fees, room, board, a computer stipend +summer research opportunities) to 35 NC residents and 15 OOS students each year.
