with those stats, you qualify for Purdue's Trustees Scholarship - $10,000 a year for four years. + you will probably get more on top of that.

gatech only gives merit money to the top 100 people. don't expect any other money, because a financial aid person there told me that gatech ran a scholarship deficit (gave out more money than they brought in) last year. the economy is not helping.

Other posters have mentioned New Mexico Institute of Technology, which also was a featured college in one of those Newsweek college editions as an up and comer.

whoever mentioned olin, yeah, it's full tuition, but the room and board there is more than the total cost of attendence instate for gtech... OP, what state are you from?

i don't know how much has changed, but when I applied to RPI, I was offered a half tuition scholarship, and very little need based aid, and that still ended up being one of the most expensive schools for me. I didn't get a lot of need based aid from CWRU either, only a half tuition scholarship.

Look for schools with big endowments, and small size, usually they are able to offer a lot of money.

If you are female, Smith College’s Picker Engineering Program is superb. The quality of the engineering program is such that every Smith College engineering student with a 3.5 GPA is guaranteed admission to the graduate engineering schools at Princeton, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, Tufts, and University of Michigan!

Smith provides STRIDE scholarships where high achieving students do research with professors. They have a number of other scholarships and financial aid as well.

did you take the PSAT? USC offers 1/2 tuition scholarships for NMF's, and with your stats you could very well qualify for a Trustees Scholarship[ 100% tuition scholarship]. They have a great engineering college[ Vertibi] In addition, USC is VERY generous with financial aid. They are looking for hi stat students.

I got a pretty decent offer from RPI which I used to bump up my offer from CMU. I lucked out and they matched it. You should definitely look into applying to a bunch of schools that offer lots of aid, and once you get in, start telling the schools what all the others offered you for aid.
