Is it okay to state your future plans if you want to go to grad school and get a Masters in a particular type of engineering not offered at the college you apply to undergrad?

Do you mean state on your undergraduate college application that you plan to go to graduate school at another school?

I’m sure it isn’t really a problem but unless you have your career plans down to a point (thesis topic, graduate school and etc), which would be quite impressive for someone wentering UG, I think it would better to leave it vaguer.

If instead you mean that you are graduating and want to put future plans for graduate school @ X school, then that should be fine.

Well I want to pursue a masters in nuclear engineering, but most of the colleges I’m applying to undergrad don’t have a nuclear program. So I don’t know if I should mention that in the “why engineering” sections or not, that’s what i mean…

It’s up to you but don’t really see any admission advantages in stating you want to leave for your MS. I think your “why engineering” should focus on why X college for your UG engineering degree.

sounds good. thanks!
