Engineering Statics Without Physics?

The course catalog at UMBC states that the only requirement for enrollment in Statics is Calcululs I. Other universities require at least University Physics I for prior or concurrent enrollment in Statics. The B.S. degree planner/schedule for UMBC Mechanical Engineering anticipates that University Physics I and Statics will be taken simulataneously. Would it be a mistake for a Freshman (with Calc II under his/her belt) to enroll in Statics without the benefit of University Physics I?l

take physics 1 first, then take statics. That way you will know the basics before you enter statics. do this especially if you dont have a high school background in physics
