Can you transfer into an engineering program at a top school from a community college?

Please advise. Thank you.

The short answer: Yes, but it's hard.
In order to advise we need to know your stats...
Which schools you consider?

Yes.

For Engineering transfers, it is critical that you take the appropriate courses in your first two years.

This may vary by school/Engineering discipline, but usually involves Calc I,II and/or III; Physics (calc-based) Chem, some electives (Hum/Soc Sci), possibly a Programming course....

Check the freshman and sophomore recommended course schedule for your target school(s) and replicate it as closely as possible.

Good luck.

I agree that it's possible. Like Andale said, make sure you are taking the right courses ... and doing well in them. Best of luck.

When I was in CC (until two months ago) I took the broadest range of math and science. For example some schools require linear algebra but others dont. You need to be in the best shape (as a candidate) at the time of applying. Since you are interested in top programs and knowing that the transfer rates for these programs is very low, you need to make your self a competitive candidate for each school that you apply to by taking a broader credit hours which may result in excess of credit hours (like in my case), but it will provide you an equal opportunity at each of the schools.
