Engineering - Undecided or specified?

I am on the border of getting in to NEU, 3.18 Unweighted, 1950 SAT, 1300 (M/CR), 30 composite ACT, M=32/R=35, lots of extra curricular, ap calc ab/psych which I am doing good in for SR. YR.. and my gpa for the first half of this year is about a 3.32 unweighted.

My question is... I know the College of Engineering at NEU is competitive especially like the Chemical department, should i Applied to a specified one or undeclared?

bump! still curious after a month

Do you mean declare an engineering concentration? My roommates are engineers and they all had to come in Engineering - Undeclared as far as I know and then they declare the concentration after freshman year.

Yes I mean declare an engineer concentration. I’ve just heard rumors that there is only a select few spots for those who apply to the CoE as an Undeclared major… though I dont understand that because at the end of freshman year (all general classes) they then choose their focus.

Yeah sorry I didn’t realize there was an option to declare the concentration during the application process. If you know what you want to do, I guess you might as well declare it. I know undeclared in the formerly College of Arts and Sciences is extremely selective. Don’t know how it goes with CoE.

From your knowledge (Or anyone else here at CC who knows NEU’s CoE) do you know which major is the easiest to get into?

I’m on the border of getting in with my stats, though I know I can handle the curriculum (yes i am one of those kids who didn’t care in highschool… sadly), so I don’t think I’ll have a problem switching into one of the harder majors after freshman year.

bump!10char

Sorry, I don’t know. I really thought all Engineers were undeclared and then declared them once they got here. Sorry.

It really does not matter what you pick. Everyone takes the same classes their first two semesters.
I came in undecided. Everyone has to declare by the end of the year and they give you plent of opportunities to explore every field.
