URGEN Q, before I send in App?

If i put College of Engineering for my first choice and get rejected, am I considered for the other schools as well?

Or is it better to put Undeclared? or my 2nd choice?

If I put the College of Science as my 1st choice, will I still be considered for the College of Engineering?

I really want to be accepted into the college of engineering but I would rather get into the university first and then do an internal transfer than get rejected

Thanks again!

Don’t take my word for it… normally I’d wait for someone else to respond, but seeing as how this is urgent :)

I think you’ll still be considered for the other colleges (does it ask you to select more than just first choice?). I think with more selective colleges, it’s easier to be accepted into them when you first apply than to internally transfer into them. So if I were you, I’d put College of Engineering as first choice.

I’d email the admissions department and ask. You have until Jan 15 anyway.

ah…oops, i thought the deadline was Jan 1st and submitted everything…

I put undeclared ):
I HOPE they consider me for BOTH programs?! ): ):

Just shoot them an email anyways and explain your situation. If you get accepted undeclared, there’s a “request change of major” button in the NEU portal. It says they’re considered on a case-by-case basis. So at that point, there’s nothing to lose

Research this carefully. I have a vague recollection that getting admitted as Undecided at NEU is tougher (few slots).

omg. that is bad news. i did some research just now and you are absolutely correct.
Can I call them and ask them to change my 1st choice?

AND I DID THE SAME FOR NYU. i put undecided as my major…but not my school.

gah. i won’t be able to sleep tonight…
I hope they’ll change it for me…

I don’t see why they wouldn’t if they haven’t reviewed it yet (obviously they haven’t if you JUST submitted it).
