Engineers applying to become Doctors

Hi - how many of you are planning on applying to med school after getting an engineering degree? It seems like the best way to do med school is the get an engineering degree, work for a year as an engineer to make a living, and all the while be preparing the applications for med school (having taken the prereqs + mcat of course)...that way you have an undergrad degree, are making money as a base engineering, and never have to work in corporate engineering again if you make it into med school.

it seems like a logical route...so I was wondering how many people are planning on doing that?

It's a great path. The primary drawback is that it's tougher to get a stellar GPA as an engineering major than other majors. I'm considering the same path. Engingeering majors for undergrad have many options when they graduate.
