I am interested in learning which colleges have a solid undergraduate English program. Based on my grades and scores and the fact that I want to stay in the Northeast, these are some of the schools I am interested in: U Mass at Amherst, Gettysburg, Dickinson, Geneseo, U of Md College Park, Muhlenberg and Clark. Any advice?

Just about every college has a good English program. What can your family afford? What is your home state?

I agree with Erin’s Dad. And I’m not seeing the logic behind the list of schools you’ve selected. There’s huge publics like UMD at College Park and LACs like Muhlenberg. The only other consistency is that they seem to be NE and midatlantic, so is that a criteria?

Depending on your grades & your financials you would be fine at any liberal arts school, ivy, public u. From peer surveys i reviewed in the 90s, brown u. & rutgers u. & yale consistently scored high among peers.

Allegheny, Ithaca, Syracuse, Dickinson, UDel, Lehigh…
