ENGLISH, particularly CRITICAL THEORY

I'm transferring out of a CC with strong academics, ECs, etc etc.

I want to major in English. I have a HUGE interest in Critical theory.
Some colleges I've already considered:

Northwestern- looks like they have a strong english program. They offer a minor in Critical Theory too.

Cornell - Ivy League, strong school in general. There are lots of courses outside of the English department that deal with critical theory.

Syracuse University - ETS, their english program, is critical theory based! SU seems "weaker" compared to some of the other college though

Georgetown - Critical theory, political focuses.

Any thoughts? Any other universities I should check into?

Berkeley? The Englihs is strong, and critical theory may be one of the department's many specialties. Also, many "out of deparment" courses would cover "critical theory" of all sorts.

Harvard? Yale? These are historically strong in English. Perhaps Princeton and UPenn as well, but I don't know about the focuses of their English departments. Perhaps Chicago and Columbia, but again, I don't know the focuses of the departments.

Look in Critical Theory books and journals--check which universities the authors are from.

Duke
UC Irvine
Cornell
Johns Hopkins
Berkeley
Columbia
Chicago
Yale
NYU
Stanford
Harvard
Brown
U Penn
Rutgers
Illinois
Princeton
Pitt
Wisconsin

based on ratings of GRADUATE literary crit in US News

Berkeley, Yale, Harvard, UChicago, Duke, UC Irvine, Johns Hopkins are probably the top universities to consider.

Also consider small LACs such as Wellesley, Wesleyan, Amherst, Swarthmore and Oberlin.
