I am currently in my first year of communuty college right now. Im taking 5 classes but one of them is a non transferrable class so I only have 13 credits that actually count. I plan on applying for colleges this winter and I was wondering if my 13 credits wouldn’t be taken seriously since they aren’t much.
You’re taking more or less the average amount of credits that a college student takes per semester.
However: as you may know, some schools that you might be applying require you to have a certain amount of credits to transfer a junior (~60 credits). Therefore, you should make sure to track the total amount of credits that you complete, to avoid falling short.
Yea I’m applying to colleges who take less than 30 credits to apply. I just have to send my act/sat scores and hs transcripts as well. What do colleges look at the most? College gpa, test scores, hs gpa, or essay.
Since you will only have 1 semester/quarter of college grades available by the time you transfer, your HS transcript and test scores will be heavily weighted.
@Gumbymom summed it up nicely.
Therefore, some unwarranted advice: if you’re applying to universities that rejected you as a freshman applicant, it is extremely likely that they will deny you the second time around.
