I'm currently a CC student with 24 credits applying to a university that requires students to send high-school transcripts if they lack a total of 45 credits. One of my reasons on attending a CC is because of my poor SAT scores. I currently have a 3.4 GPA, and I'm wondering if I should even bother writing my essays and getting references. will they toss my application aside based on my SAT scores?

they wont toss it but there is a possibility of it lowering your chances of getting accepted.

i understand that students usually with 30 units or less are considered freshman and require high school transcripts to use to help with the admission process.

however if you exceed X amount of units, 45 in your case, then they will still ask for the hs transcripts but it will not effect your chances of admission.

you should def still do all that you can to apply. worse comes to worse…you can appeal if you get rejected explaining that you have changed etc etc…or you can continue your education at your CC and apply again next year when HS scores wont matter.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I’m going to try anyway. I’m thinking about transferring between 3-4 schools, so I’ll see how that goes.
