Enrollment Deposit?

Does Yale require an enrollment deposit? If so, how much? I wanted to click yes on my admission-reply form, but I don’t know much it costs if there is a cost.

there wasn’t one back in 2011 when my daughter was accepted.

They didn’t have one when my son clicked on Yes 4 years ago either. I don’t think it’s necessary. I’m sure that Yale would have a line of people ready to take the spot of someone who developed buyer’s remorse.

They do not require a deposit! One more thing to love about Yale! :slight_smile:

No deposit. No need I suppose. Not many kids back out after accepting. Also, unlike some schools where you need to put down deposits for housing, Yale’s residential system is so different that there is no need for this. Your child will hear over the summer about which residential college they are assigned to so there is nothing to do on that end but wait. Whatever residential college they are assigned to will turn out to be the best choice for them!! Congratulations and welcome to the family!!

@Tperry1982 @jrtgsdrule @donnaleighg @IxnayBob Thank you all for the info! By any chance, how much does it take to get acceptance rescinded after enrollment? I don’t think I’m even close, but I wanna be 100% sure.

Don’t get D’s or fail a class and don’t get arrested! If you can keep your head above water you’ll be fine!! Congratulations!!!

@jrtgsdrule Phew! Thank you so much!! Boola Boola, Bulldogs!

I would add to that: don’t get drunk or stoned on Bulldog Days, and don’t post offensive memes on social media.

@DeepBlue86 Noted. Thanks!!

Take note of a group of Harvard admits from either last year or the year before who had their acceptances revoked because of some posts on Facebook. Watch your social media footprint. You can pretty much do what you want as far as activism, political views, etc., because Yale embraces freedom of thought. But racist, misogynistic, bullying posts - even in what you may think are private sites - may cause a problem. Better to spend the next few months posting pics of end of high school activities, rallies and other events you may be attending.

Other than that, unless you commit a felony or fail a class, you are pretty much okay. Welcome again. Enjoy Bulldog Days.

@TPEstudent Thank you for the advice and the welcome!
