Entertainment Industry Recruitment

Okay after graduating from college I want to work for a company in the entertainment industry like mtv, vh1, espn, fox, e!, abc, geffen records, lionsgate films, paramount pictures, etc.

I want to major in something business or communications related so I can be part of a business development team that plans out and advertises new show to the public.

But to really find a job like that, internships and job recruitment are key.

So does FSU reguraly (sp?) get recruited by companies in the entertainment industry?

The folks in these departments could answer that question:

College of Business: http://cob.fsu.edu/

Film School: http://www.film.fsu.edu/

Department of Communication: http://comm.fsu.edu/CommDept/

If you're really interested in Florida State I would suggest visiting campus and meeting with the faculty members in at least these departments. It's very possible that there are student positions in these departments that feature the kind of cross-over you're looking for. If visiting is not workable, I'd call or email. For example, Molecular Biophysics used to hire Accounting majors to help keep finances in order. You have to ask...

When I was a student at Florida State, students could get jobs at the radio/TV station. This may be worth checking out: http://www.wfsu.org/about/index.html

Not to mention the FSU meteorology program that we discussed earlier:
