Do they like students who start stuff by themselves, such as a company or ? Do they support the student in college ie. like wharton and MIT in their plans? How do they look at an applicant who has started a business ie like mine - www.strikegold.tk ?

Haven't we already talked about this?

I'm sure they like it on the application; I have no idea if they support or anything like that.

im specifically asking about support. Wharton supports student run businesses, and sometomes even offers office space etc. to run. I was wondering if Pton does the same.

Ah, gotcha ;)

dreaming of a sprawling office with the address XXXXX Princeton, NJ, U.S.A for my company

Princeton does officially support student-run businesses, known as Student Agencies. They get office space, storage space, publicity, and perhaps even seed money. There are not new additions to the list of agencies often; most are aimed at the needs/wants of other students, and the obvious ones are already in existence (e.g. Furniture, Newspaper, Food delivery, Bouncers, Bartenders).

If you came up with a new idea that was legitimate, I think you could get support. Also, there are several entrepreneurship clubs (Business Today, etc.) that support more varied forms of entrepreneurs, but not so directly as to give office space and such.

anyone ever seen the MTV commercials that go something like, "if MTV was a industrial sales rep, he would easily dominate the blah blah blah of the tri-state area" hahaha, use the same concept, except plug in princeton into the equation.

If Princeton was the CEO of a fortune 500 company someone take it over...what would princeton do?

thanks Mike D! I'll talk about it with my interviewer next week...

do you guys think its a good idea to talk about joining Student Agencies during my interview?

if you have a legitimate idea, that isn't already taken - sure. it would make an interesting discussion.

hmm...i'l probably have to do some background research on exactly what the heck the SAs actually do before i blabber some incorrect crap to him...do y anything about them?

Well, they're not entrepreneurships in the purest sense, seeing how the businesses have already been established (it's really pretty uncommon to add a new one; you just start working in one that you like, and maybe become the manager when you're an upperclassman). The cool thing about being a manager is that you get a cut of the profits, I believe.

But anyway, I think most kids start out working in a Student Agency just because it's a job, and has flexible hours. I also know that there's a lack of sufficient interest in them, as there are currently signs around campus advertising for a general interest meeting to fill positions.

hmm...would starting something new, like introducing my company into the Student Agencies, as a part-profit-part-charity corporation sound interesting to the adcom? afterall it'l be damn unique if im the first one to do something like that...maybe il be a feather in their cap...just maybe.... slaps myself to wake up to reality
