So I’ve been accepted in the environmental science major as a transferring junior and I’m wondering how is the environmental science program? How does it stack up against other universities? I’m deciding between Davis and Humboldt State for this major, would it be dumb of me to turn down Davis for Humboldt? Humboldt is a lot less expensive and I hear their natural science majors are great. I’ve visited both schools and I like both schools, deciding is proving to be quite difficult. My plans for the future are too attend graduate school for either a masters or PhD, most likely the PhD. Am also considering double majoring in psychology as well. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Davis is a much, much more respected school overall. Though I’m not sure how the two programs rank, and the cost is certainly a relevant consideration, I would lean towards Davis simply based on its academic quality and superior reputation.

Davis has been consistently ranked one of the more environmentally conscious and environmentally active colleges. Of the Environmental Science courses I’ve taken so far, I would have to say that the program is pretty good. If you’re an active environmentalist, you might get the chance to have some great interactions with the professors and TAs, they know what they’re talking about!
