I know there's a similar board out there but, I have a couple different questions.

First of all, I was wondering if there really is any demand for the environmental science major.
Or, should I focus my major into something more specific (any recommendations would be great, I'm really into the whole environmental science/conservation field)?

That's obviously my main goal, to get a somewhat well-paying job. I'm open to changing my major completely.

And second, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good colleges for environmental science. So far I've been interested in SUNY - ESF.

I'd prefer anything in the Midwestern region but it doesn't matter too much. And here are some of my stats, if that helps -

ACT score (plan to retake) - 29
PSAT score (doubt this matters) - 204
GPA - 3.6
Extracurriculars/others - volunteer at nature center (2 summers), VP of environmental club, VP of endangered species club, piano (10+ years), member of volunteer organization at school.
I've taken 24-hour long enrichment programs in Pottery, Photography, Java programming, Web Design, Sustainable Living and "Careers in Applied Science", as well as a summer camp for engineering.

Also, I'm a full IB student

Biggest interests - Environment, conservation...anything "green"
Other interests - biomedicine, medical research

Sorry...that was really long. If any of you have any sort of enlightening information about all this, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks so much!
