Environmental Science vs Marine Biology

Hi, i’m trying to decide which option would be better to study. I was planning on studying environmental science, but i’m way more passionate about working with ocean animals. There are also certain things about environmental science I just don’t really care that much about, such as geology/soil. However, I know that it’s easier to find a job within environmental science. What do you think? Thank you

Most people have some aspects of their major they don’t care for as much; you’re not expect to love every corner of it.

Some environmental scientists do study ocean animals or at least work with them, if the corner of enivronmental science they are interested in involves the ecology or behavior of marine animals. So the ES major doesn’t rule that out.

The other thing is - what is the job outlook in marine biology? I mean, you can major in something without working in that area, if that’s what you’re really passionate about. But if the only reason you’d major in marine bio is if you think it’ll get you a job working with marine animals, you might be unpleasantly surprised if you find out the jobs in that area are very limited. I don’t know - it’s worth looking into.
