Environmental Sciences in the Midwest?

Which large state schools have the best environmental science programs? Any school but Michigan. I think I want to go into environmental consulting after college.

Any of these could provide a solid grounding in the environmental science:
Ohio State: [Environmental Science | School of Environment and Natural Resources](<a href=“Site | SENR”>Environmental Science | SENR)
Minnesota: [Environmental Sciences, Policy, and Management (ESPM) : College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences : University of Minnesota](http://www.espm.umn.edu/)
Purdue: <a href=“Natural Resources and Environmental Science”>Natural Resources and Environmental Science;
Indiana: [IU BSES - Home](<a href=“Indiana University Bloomington”>Indiana University Bloomington)
Wisconsin: [Curriculum & Requirements](http://envirosci.cals.wisc.edu/curriculum/)
Iowa: [Undergraduate Program | Environmental Sciences | College of Liberal Arts & Sciences | The University of Iowa](<a href=“Environmental Sciences | The University of Iowa”>Environmental Sciences | The University of Iowa)
Iowa State: [Environmental Science: Iowa State University](http://www.ensci.iastate.edu/undergrad/degree_info.html)

Check out their curricula for the emphases and options that interest you.
Given your stated career goal, I’m assuming you’re interested in the applied aspects, so you also should consider programs in environmental engineering.

Any particular reason you are looking specifically for large state schools? Couldn’t the OOS tuition get pretty pricey? (Especially for a major that doesn’t necesarrily have the greatest job prospects…)
