EOP at UC Berkeley

I was recently admitted to UC Berkeley and I was also notified that I was admitted to their EOP program.

From what I’ve read, it looks like it’s for URM’s and low income students, but I don’t really qualify for either (asian and fairly high income bracket). Is this a mistake or am I missing something?

I got accepted for EOP as well (with a decent income). You can also get accepted to EOP if you are a first generation college student.

You could have also been admitted if you participated in a program in high school which helps people of those demographics like EAOP or Upward Bound
