Error in making correction to FAFSA

So we did the FAFSA on January 1st and we did not know if our second child was going to be attending college for the fall term of 2015-2016. Since he will, we attempted to complete a correction to the FAFSA. We did this and when it was submitted to our college, they kept changing it back to only 1 child attending college versus 2. This went back and forth for a couple of times.

Now our college updated that info and wants us to submit a correction. We are trying to do this and it keeps giving us an error in the assets. We put that we did not have more than the $7k and it doesn’t let us save it to continue.

If we start over, would it be starting the entire application over or will it be starting over a correction?

What had you put for assets on the original January 1 fafsa? You don’t change asset amounts unless what you put on the first fafsa was an error as of the date of the original submission. Is there an error message associated with not being able to save the fafsa?

We selected No. But then under that it asks an amount but it is grayed out. There has been no change to that area since the beginning.

The question…did you answer YES when you completed fafsa initially?
