<p>Well, they give you a choice where you can write a topic of your own. I really don't think it changes every year.</p>

<p>I really appreciate the requests, but can they please be from those student who have already gone through the Yale admissions process? No offense, I just would feel more comfortable if more experienced people could look over it.</p>

<p>What's the difference between the general essay where you can write about any topic you want and then a "supplementary" essay specifically for Yale? Are they one-in-the-same?</p>
<p>^ Yes, they are. Unless they change it this year and include more essay topics.</p>

<p>Well, the Common App. definitely has that choice and, unless I'm remembering another supp. from a different university, Yale's Supp. also has it. I'm pretty sure they give you the "write another essay if you have something else you want us to know that wasn't demonstrated in the Common App." option, or something to that extent.</p>
