<p>Looks like it's asking for a resume right?
Try as I might to add a creative twist to it, it keeps turning out like one drawn out resume. Anyone else having problems with this prompt?</p>
<p>i wrote on this prompt; try picking one facet of your "community" and describing it in detail. that should help you write in a format that doesn't resemble a list.</p>
<p>A resume? Are you sure you're reading the question carefully? I think it's asking you to evaluate your life as a whole (almost like the entire context of your life) and describe its impact on you and what you hope to accomplish as a result. Use your family, where you were brought up (and in what context), school, clubs, etc. to help shape an aspiration you wish to achieve. It's really a good way of separating yourself away from simply making yourself seem like you are a talking resume or a score. You should definitely reevaluate your approach to the essay. <p>Um, it's an essay, definitely not a resume.</p>
<p>i and everyone else i know just thought of an interesting story about themselves. they ranged from more 'obvious' topics like a major extracurricular (debate, robotics, theater, community service, etc), family, and cultural identity, to more anecdotal and random ones (fear of shower curtains, solving a puzzle, crossdressing, funny moment with friends). you can span a few years demonstrating your growth as a person, or elaborate on a brief moment in time. you can basically do anything for this essay except make a resume list.</p>
<p>i just wrote about my school...i talked about my bio teachers and my speech/debate team and how both of them have made me who i am today and have allowed me to form and pursue my interests/ideas for the future. this wasn't actually my favorite essay, though...i like my creation essay the best =]</p>
