So because of my stupidity I wrote a really good essay that I really like, but after writing, revising, rewriting and perfecting the essay, I realized that it was supposed to be about 1 page long. Mine is 2.5 pages.
I can't revise it to fit approximately one page which means I'll have to write a new one.
The thing is that it really captures who I am a flows so well. I got so much positive feedback on it from many people.
Could the length of the essay jeopardize my acceptance?
I'm contemplating on whether I should write a new one or not..
Any suggestions? comments? I'll really appreciate it..

I would try extremely hard to get it down to under 2 pages. I feel that if they are going to look poorly on your application for the length, then this will at least make it not as bad. How much weight they put by this restriction will also depend on the school. However, if the essay is truly outstanding then I would not hesitate to submit it.

if the feedback you get is good, i am sure adcoms can overlook a longer essay, but still keep it to under 2 pages. Btw, is your essay 2.5 pages single spaced? I though the common app limit for the essay is 400-500 words, or 1 page single spaced/2 pages double spaced.

My essay is 2 and one quarter of a page double spaced which makes it 1 and one quarter of a page single spaced. Anyways I think I’m just going to send it.
Thanks nvilla and melonbread!
