Essay Length (Too Long?)

<p>Just got done writing two essays for UNC. UNC requires a long essay of about 500 words and a short essay of about 250 words. </p>

<p>My long essay is about 590 and my short is about 340. Are these too long? I really don't want to cut anything out or start over (I like the essays), but if I keep them like they are will they hurt me?</p>

<p>i really don't think either of them are too long.</p>

<p>as long as its <100 words over, i think you are ok. they aren't going to count the words.</p>

<p>i think the long one is okay, but with a shorter essay, it's easier to tell if you're over the limit. i'd try to get the short one down to around 300, just to be safe.</p>
