Essay question - "an idea or experience that has been important to your intellectual development"

Not sure what they mean by “intellectual vitality.” Would it be a good idea to write about my experience at the Stanford Model United Nations Conference - and what I learned about diplomacy, etc.?

My ds worked at that conference this fall!

I think this is more of a “why” question than a “what” question. My ds wrote his intellectual vitality essay about how and why he became interested in IR. What intrigued him about it and how being part of Model UN and his IR class made him totally change direction on what he wanted to study even though he attended a STEM high school. WHY it made him change direction. HOW it impacted his worldview, etc. I don’t think a “report” on what you learned is exactly the right way to go with this essay. I think it needs to be a bit more personal. What drives you. What are you passionate about learning and WHY you are passionate about it. If you think about the word “vitality” - what is it about a topic that brings you to “life.” Just my $0.02.
