<p>how does the essay portion factor into the score of the writing section? is it possible to earn an 800 w/, say, an 8 essay? do colleges care if one writes a 12 essay but ultimately ends up with a score of 600-650? a mediocre essay and a perfect MC?</p>

<p>i cant seem to find the answer in this forum, and i apologize if i should be able to find it and/or if this is a stupid question ><</p>

<p>it's not possible to get a perfect 800 with an essay score of 8.....
the essay accounts for abt 30% of your writing sections mark.,..</p>

<p>i think getting a 12 in essay and an overall 650 would be really weird and havent heard of it happening....</p>
