I want to start thinking about my essay, but I don't really understand what to write about. I heard it should be about something unique to me in order to distinguish myself from others so that college admission officers can see I'm special, but I'm stuck. I don't really know what to write about. I'm only in 9th grade so I still have 2 years to think about it, but can you guys give me some examples of what somebody would write on their essays? I won't use them, I just want to see what would be a good topic to separate themselves from everyone else. Thanks :)

If you are applying to University of Chicago they like weird, such as the one spoken of in this article [A Cheeky College Essay Inspires Controversy - The Choice Blog - NYTimes.com](A Cheeky College Essay Inspires Controversy - The New York Times) other than that just pick something important to you and write on it.

Why would you think that I would want to apply for that college out of all the others… if you want me to be specific I mean Ivy

Sorry, there isn’t really a template for college essay besides reflecting on your life and thinking of a significant moment in your life. Sure look at a few for guidance on a standard google search, but make sure you write about YOUR experience, not just blah from blah.
