I've been thinking pretty hard about the essay as I'm sure all of you have. I've been at a lost as to what to write about though. I think it's been said enough that any grand generalizations or epiphanies of any sort are out of the picture. I haven't really had any traumatizing experiences and frankly if I did, they'd probably sound too self-absorbed anyways. I'm writing (or thinking about writing) about the small things, the little things that I've noticed. But I'm just confused as to what they're looking for about you yourself personally. Are they looking for your interests, your personality or traits that you deem important, or yourself as a whole? Any thoughts?

What are your hobbies and why do you enjoy them?

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

What makes you unique?

What is a strong belief that you hold?

What have you done during the past summers?

What is the hardest thing you’ve ever done?

Keep in mind that your topic needs to have supporting examples, be interesting, and most of all reveal something about yourself. Don’t stress over finding a topic you think they would be impressed with; mundane topics are often much better! Talk about why you take the scenic route home from school or how you have breakfast with your dad each morning; these topics reveal tons about you. Good luck!
