<p>If I'm applying to some Ivies (Harvard for one (free ride, <60K)), what kind of essay should I write about:</p>
<p>I'm 1/2 Hispanic (living with my Hispanic mother).</p>
<p>Should I say in being Hispanic, the culture has shaped me to have a hard-working attitude, or should I talk about what I'm most passionate about, such as cooking and spelling?</p>
<p>The "why my ethnicity is unique" eassy is banal at the Ivy league.
Maybe you could do an essay about hispanic sooking or spelling while speaking a different language at home and in school.</p>
<p>so infuse both aspects into one (how both made me the person I am today)?</p>
<p>I cook all cultures' types of food. I'm probably gonna put anthropology as my major.</p>
