Did anyone give their essays a title?
I didn’t. I think it’s just because they gave me a question box to fill out my essays - or maybe short answers.
You don’t need a title. The prompt is enough.
An essay title is unnecessary unless your title is “My Essay.”
Anything more or less may be a distraction from the story you are trying to tell. And I would strongly discourage trying to be clever with a title…leave that to the professionals.

If you feel like your essay needs a title to give it an introduction then you should probably rework the first couple sentences of your essay. I don’t know how long the essays are to which you are referring but most of the ones my kid is working on are 200-500 words. An essay that short needs to jump into the point right away, not have a big lead up that doesn’t answer the question until the 5th sentence.
